While the forum was pretty much the usual sort of defusing response undertaken by flak catchers when things hit the fan, a number of parents expressed how their children did not feel safe at school except when they are in class.
The forum is said to be geared for parents and guardians even though those who are protesting are local public school students.
In the wake of incidents of inexcusable harassment, fighting, and even a student walkout at Quincy High School in at least four local public schools in as many weeks, Quincy Mayor Thomas Koch, who as mayor is also the Chair of the School Committee, has been silent.
For at least what appears to be the third such incident since the start of the school year this year in Quincy, one of Quincy’s schools has suffered a race-based incident.
In short, regression to the mean happens.
