MBTA woes made for a most unpleasant Sunday for straphangers yesteday.
The problems and so resultant concerns are myriad as well as also bode ill for the future.
Of primary focus near-term by regional media was how an overhead and likely lighting power line fell on the rails at Park Street Station and so lite up the station with sparks.
Fortunately, if not also amazingly, no one electrocuted.
Even so, Green Line rail service was still so disrupted for roughly six hours and thus yet again substitute bus service was rolled out to cover where rail service was disrupted.

Overlooked during this latest Charlie Foxtrot on the MBTA, however, was how Green Line service was concurrently further disrupted by a disabled train at Arlington Station.

Even so, the mouthpieces at the MBTA continue to talk up how emergency makeover on the whole of still fully out of service Orange Line rail line is on track for this troubled line to still-purportedly resume next service next Monday.
At the same time, the semantic analysts on the Quincy Quarry press release and other photo op statements review desk have detected a couple of troubling concerns within the MBTA’s statements.
Very troubling concerns.
One, MBTA officials continue to talk up how the overall amount of completed work to date on the Orange Line makeover all but perfectly matches the percentage of days that the makeover has been underway.
In other words, there would be appear to be little to no margin to accommodate only to be expected problems to meet next Monday’s targeted resumption of Orange Line rail service.
This view is further underscored by how T officials have stated that rail replacement is far more along towards completions but collateral efforts not necessarily so.
In fact, in at least some instances not even close,
In turn, given that at least some of the other rework planned is often the sort of thing that could be done overnight in bits and pieces AFTER rail service on the Orange Line is still expected to resume next Monday, Quincy Quarry News will continue to place its bets accordingly.
Further disconcerting, at least as far as Quincy Quarry could discern, the MBTA has not offered up any statements as to whether or not Green Line rail service will also resume between Government Stations to Lechmere Station next Monday, much less nay word as to when just recently opened but then quickly closed Green Line Extension rail service to Union Station in Somerville will resume service in the wake of its concurrently imposed service suspension. much less any word as to when the long under construction Green Line Extension further along to Medford will finally be put into operation.
As such, straphangers should plan accordingly going forward, if not also unendingly.

So the safety inspectors are still clocking in and going home? It’s their job to find and report potential problems before they happen. This and just about about all the other T accidents were avoidable.
