Quincy Center hit by second suspected arson fire in two weeks

The latest fire in Quincy Center in recent months as well as one that occurred but two weeks after the last one was a grass fire at the former site of one of Quincy’s earliest churches and is now a church cemetery.

The general consensus is that this fire was probably caused by a cigarette butt carelessly tossed into drought-dried out grass.

The only good news involving this latest fire in Quincy Center: none of the residents of the site were disturbed.

At the same time, surely at least some residents at a for seniors apartment building diagonally across who suffered a close call of a trash fire two months ago had to be at least somewhat unnerved by this latest fire in Quincy Center.
