While there have been no consequential hints, much less any leaks, as to what Governor Baker will have to say today, it surely cannot be good given the grime preliminary COVID-19 case data reported over the long New Year’s Day weekend on top of setting a new single-day new infections record last week.

Further troubling, Quincy Quarry’s Quant Desk intern spotted potential new case data collection problems with at least the data cited for Quincy in the Massachusetts Department of Public Health COVID-19 weekly update report released last week and that the apparent errata appear to yield undercounts.
