While generally a somewhat quiet week for news, there were still a few breaking badly news© news nuggets this past week.
For example, a fire inside of a Mansfield firehouse.
And on the state level, state tax revenue collections are still running behind the Department of Revenue’s projections.
Through the end of January were running roughly four hundred million dollars short of expectations.
Apparently no one at DOR could fathom how state tax revenue might take a hit on capital gains-fueled state income tax revenue given that the stock market was hit by a major decline in stock prices during 2018.
And even closer to home, Boston was found to have the worst commute time traffic congestion in the US by a company that tracks such things.
Additionally, Boston area commute congestion was also included in the company’s list of the ten worst internationally.While the Metro Boston’s problematic ranking comes as no great surprise to any area residents, Quincy Quarry has no idea if Quincy traffic congestion data were part of the ranking calculus.
And finally, there has yet to be an arrest in the purported sucker punching homicide in Squantum almost three weeks after the fatal crime.
So what, apparently, for the fact that word on the street within two days of the attack was talking up the name of alleged sucker puncher.
In short: no arrest, no justice
