If causing anxiety is a yardstick of influence, US Attorney for Massachusetts Andrew Lelling is all but running things in Massachusetts these days, not to mention that just about everyone looks to be fair game.

Never take a knife to gunfight with the feds

– News covered by Quincy Quarry News with commentary added.

“US Attorney Andrew Lelling is the new sheriff in town.”   At least so opines a Boston broadsheet columnist.

The Boston Calling guilty verdicts, still ongoing Massachusetts State Police convictions, Judge Shelley Joseph, the Boston City Hall bribery scandal, suing the City of Quincy over at least a decade of serous EPA violations, and even more indictments of Fall River Mayor Jasiel F. Correia II just last week – in short, US Attorney‘Andrew Lelling is talking names, numbers and lots of alleged perps into custody.

Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the crime

Needless to say, a number of other public officials and employees are surely having trouble sleeping at night as they wonder where the next dime(s) will be dropped.

Even so, the broadsheet overlooked at least a couple of key factors.

One, Lelling is a President Donald Trump appointee.

And the other, so far essentially all of the high profile parties who have gone down have been been at least ostensibly Democrats.

Then again, with most of the Commonwealth all but controlled by at least ostensible Democrats and so far Republican Governor Charlie Baker’s Teflon coating continues to keep anything from sticking, a high hit rate of Democrats is only to be expected.

Convicted Quincy Double and triple dipper
A Pat Ronan/Patriot Ledger image

Regardless, Quincy Quarry has seen US Attorney Lelling crew in action up close and personal with its coverage of the successful conviction of the Quincy Police Department’s double and sometimes even triple dipping double dipper and can thus say with certainty that his crew is both pro and unrelenting in their pursuit of justice.

After all, as US Attorney Andrew Lelling said when he was first appointed US Attorney for Massachusetts, “you need the feds” to pursue Massachusetts public corruption cases.

Especially when Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey has not exactly been duly taking care of all of her official obligations
