Ground Hog Day is tomorrow.

As such, millions will be on for the most part frozen tenterhooks awaiting word from Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney PA if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow given that legend has it that such calls for another six weeks of winter.

So what, however, that Ms G, the Massachusetts Audubon Society’s ground hog at its Drumlin Farm rustic open space in Lincoln MA will concurrently be weighing in with her own forecast tomorrow morning.

Those in the know know that Ms. G has a much better record at making the call, at least so far as New England weather is concerned.

In short, as well as is all too common, the male basks in the glory but it is the female delivers the goods.

In any event, the weather report for Punxsutawney PA tomorrow is to be at least partly cloudy with a chance of snow flurries over the course of the day whereas it is conversely expected to be bright and sunny in Eastern Massachusetts.  As such, Ms. G surely to be able to see her shadow and so indicate six more weeks of winter at least locally.

In the meanwhile, at least perhaps through Friday local daytime high temperatures are expected to be running a balmy freezing to as much of a couple of degrees above freezing before plunging back into the teens and twenties next weekend.

Accordingly, no significant snow thaw is happening anytime soon.

As such, dress appropriately as well as fill coat pockets with appropriate libations.
