Eighty years ago Allied troops landed on Normandy beaches and so opened up the Western front against Nazi Germany.

Not only was seeing close to one hundred and thirty-three thousand troops landed on D-Day against armed resistance and considerable fortifications an audacious endeavor, the landing was even more bold as there was no Plan B other than ramping up endeavor another invasion at a later — if not much later — date should the assault fail.

The impacts of war are forever

Tragically, armed oppression, war, and needless deaths are still among us.

That and the eternal impact of both past and ongoing wars.

At the same time, so too is the importance of battling against that which should have never happened in the first place.
