The Wednesday evening commute along Washington Street was disrupted by a traffic accident.

The accident occurred on Washington Street’ near its intersection with Ponds Street, former known as Pond Street, as well as included a Quincy police cruiser.

Police radio chatter suggested that the cruiser had been responding to a domestic as well as that the officer in it was perhaps in a hurry.

The cruiser also appears to have done a 180 degree rotation following the collision as well as ended up facing the wrong way on the eastbound side of Washington Street.

Another car involved was a Honda and per the images taken of it on a tow truck suggest that it likely suffered the worst of it.

In any event, a number of other cruisers responded to the scene as well as nearby so to detour westbound traffic onto Mill Street to then rely on Southern Artery so as to bypass the accident scene.

Also on the scene were two firetrucks, an ambulance, a Brewster Ambulance supervisor’s ride, and in time at least one tow truck.

While on the scene, Quincy Quarry News personnel further happened up a third vehicle that looked to have suffered collateral damage.

The good news, it did not appear to be a serious injury grade accident.

Also fortunate, the weather this evening was mild.

For this time of year anyway.
