Fortunately, last night’s night heavy rain and strong wind event happened overnight.
Even so, there still were multiple reports of downed street signs, out of service traffic signals, and floodings this morning around the time of today’s larger 10.6 foot high tide at 9:47 am.
In particular, flooding closed Victory Road at East Squantum Street this morning along with Newport Avenue near its terminus at Hancock Street and thus near the Cathay Pacific restaurant, a local food and beverage purveyor which is a favored as well as frequent venue for Quincy Quarry News bored and staph meetings.
And for the WTQ of the day, this morning word was heard on the Quincy police radio channel that a woman so far inexplicably managed to get her head stuck underneath the seat of her ride in the vicinity of 125 Granite Street opposite the Granite Plaza strip mall adjacent to Star Market in Quincy Center.
Needless to say, the Quincy Fire Department’s Rescue One rolled to the scene to effect an extraction.
Was the woman driving at the time?
Frank,
It is the Quarry’s understanding that the female who ended up with her stuck under a car seat was not driving when she ended up stuck. No clue, however, how she ended up stuck.
