Pedestrian strikes by motor vehicles continue in the early days of 2024 with the latest one not looking good for the pedestrian.

Not good at all.

On a cold morning this morning around 9:30 am, Quincy Quarry’s primary Citizen Police Scanner Monitor heard word of a pedestrian whacking in the vicinity of 1000 Southern Artery senior housing complex.

Even worse, the words heard were not good.

Not good at all.

The breaking badly bad news© included that calls went out for more units, traffic cones requested, South Street closed from Southern Artery to Winter Street, and MBTA buses rerouted.

The radio chatter also indicated that both police would be on the scene as well as traffic diverted for at least a while, if not a long while.

At the same time, however, no word was heard as for calling an ambulance.

While admittedly perhaps missed, not hearing any mention of an ambulance is obviously troubling given what all else was heard.
