As summer winds down, it is time to start thinking about the impending annual arrival of the cold time of the year even if no one wants to do so.

Prefacing case in point, in the wake of the Koch Maladministration cutting the budget line for snow removal in its Fiscal Year 2024 budget by 18%, the Farmers’ Almanac just announced that it is predicting a cold and snowy winter and especially so for New England.

Granted, recent winters in Quincy have been light on snow.  Even so, the City of Quincy’s response to same has not exactly been even but merely mediocre.

Additionally, while climate change does appear to be happening, Quincy is still probably due for a snowy winter even if such winters are becoming fewer and farther between given the impact of climate change.

After all, California was hit with at least near all-time record snowfalls and rain last winter after years of drought.

Even so, causality is a dubious phenomena.

At the same time, however, suspect planning by the Koch Maladministration is something that is not uncommon.

In fact, far from it.
