Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow and so predicts six more weeks of winter.
While things in Punxsutawney were buttoned down tight to just Phil’s immediate posse given the COVID-19 pandemic, a tradition is a tradition — especially a small town tradition — and thus Phil was dragged out to yet again do his thing via live streaming rather than live and in person.
And his thing found a shadow and so predicting another six weeks of winter.
Fortunately, a review of meteorological winters past suggests that Phil’s predictions are on the order of but a coin toss.
On the other hand, in the small town of Punxsutawney, locals need every excuse they can find to justify day drinking these days.
