The old whacked pedestrian traffic signal
A Quincy Quarry News exclusive file photo

As Quincy Quarry first ran a story on the after dark on St. Patrick’s Day whacking of one of the pedestrian traffic signals on Burgin Parkway at the General Bridge which next to no one uses and then ran a chiding follow-up more recently as the signal had yet to be replaced, it is thus only fair that the Quarry now report on how the whacked traffic signal has finally been replaced.

To whit: while out and about on the mean as well as increasing dangerous streets of Quincy yesterday looking for news, Quincy Quarry News personnel happened upon a team from the City of Quincy’s awkwardly named Department of Traffic, Parking, Alarm, and Lighting finally replacing a long ago whacked pedestrian traffic signal.

Needless to say, Quincy Quarry’s ever-growing legions of loyal readers can count on the Quarry to circle back around to see if the new pedestrian traffic signal actually works as well as monitor how long it lasts and report on its findings as might be appropriate.
