International Homeless Animals Day is Today!
– News covered by Quincy Quarry News with commentary added.
Today is the day to be sure to remember to do what you can to help helpless animals.
Not everyone can adopt an animal in need of a home but anyone can help out in other ways!
For example, donate to a rescue program.
Money is always appreciated but so too are such things as a bag of cat litter, paper towels, and even old bath towels.
Check rescue programs’ websites for details and suggestions.

I donated! Twenty million dollars of taxpayers’ money is going to be spent to build an animal shelter in Quincy that will only house a few homeless animals — what a waste of OUR money! So upsetting! I will never forgive the city council members who approved spending so much and thus now support kill shelters!
QAS is a no kill shelter. You might want to get your facts straight before commenting
Karen,
You might want to reread what Retired wrote. It would clearly appear that Retired is not a fan of the City of Quincy’s plans to spend upwards of an all inclusive $20 million on a still pending new animal shelter and thus now supports kill shelters, well, generically.
Please also note that while Quincy Quarry is not a fan of kill shelters; at the same time, it does think that spending twenty large for a new animal shelter is way past more than a bit much.
