Given pressure by Boston’s Mayor Michelle Wu, other local officials, and livid straphangers, the MBTA is adding a stop in Chinatown for the substitute shuttle bus service while the Orange rail service is out of service for a (planned, ed.) month-long makeover.

The MBTA is also adding a new Chinatown stop to its Silver Line bus service.

Two added stops notwithstanding, count on all regional new media to be monitoring the expected commuting Charlie Foxtrot that will result when Orange Line rail service is shutdown on Friday.

Reasons include that the shutdown is sure to prove to be an extraordinarily easy source of stories during the usually slow news dog days of summer.
