Quincy students plan another walkout over the latest hateful video.

At least so say multiple media reports from Quincy Quarry’s media brethren.

Additionally, this expected second walkout is expected to this time include middle school students.

The motivation for the protest: a new hateful racist video surfaced in the wake of last Friday’s protest.

What local officials plan to do in response, however, clearly appears to likely be doomed to failure.

Not an option for public schools

School officials tossed up a slow and fat one right over the plate: they sent out a letter to parents advising them that their children “… are not permitted to leave their school buildings without being dismissed by a parent or guardian.

And as for sanctions, if students do leave without permission, school officials threatened to insist that they complete their homework.

Bon chance of that happening given the struggles parents know all too well when it comes to homework and remote learning.

If one sits in the Big Chair, one is expected to do the job

And in the meanwhile, Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch continues to be silent even though as mayor he is also thus the Chair of the School Committee and thus the buck should land on his desk and then stop.

That and how this buck is way different from a campaign donation buck.
