Eight cats and dogs were rescued from a Quincy multifamily residential building fire that broke out at around 4 PM on Saturday.
Additionally, nine adults and two children safely escaped the fire successfully as well as that Quincy Fire Department personnel hosed down the fire after arriving on the scene at 9 Roselin on Hospital Hill.
The fire apparently broke out in the basement and then spread elsewhere.
Damage cost estimates were not tendered and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
At the same time, given the number of cats recused, one cannot help but wonder if there might be a cat lady angle; however, Quincy Quarry News is not one to judge about cat owners so long as the cats are not howling nearby as well as at all hours of the day and especially at night.
