From Texas of all places comes word of how a Texas supermarket chain has effectively responded to Coronavirus pandemic.
Key is preplanning. H-E-B has been pondering how to respond to unexpected medical and natural disasters for well over a decade and so developed comprehensive action plans.

That and developing a healthy willingness to be open to undertaking new initiatives whenever indicated as well as listening to others.
For example, H-E-B proactively reached out to its Chinese contacts and others for information and advice early on as COVID-19 began hitting the fan.
Granted, no one was prepared for the inane run on toilet paper, but H-E-B was quick to set reasonable purchase limits to head off hoarding.
That and undertaking all manner of other steps to do the best it can to both serve and protect its customer and employees.
