Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller’s report summary released.
United States Attorney General William Barr’s widely-anticipated summary of the principal conclusions from the Robert Mueller special counsel investigation was just delivered to Congress shortly before Sunday dinner time.
Attorney General Barr’s bullet points follow.
- No collusion: Mueller did not find Donald Trump’s campaign or associates conspired with Russia.
- Mueller did not exonerate Trump: rather, Mueller did not have sufficient evidence to prosecute obstruction of justice.
- Evidence was “not sufficient” to support a prosecution of the President for obstruction of justice.
- No new indictments: Mueller’s team has no plans to issue any new indictments.
We ought to see the full report by close of business tomorrow or thereabouts. The only excuse is the redaction lawyers. They’re claiming victory so there’s no way around it. Any longer you start to wonder.
