Quincy accidents overload overloading City of Quincy emergency response dispatch capacity – or at least confusing some responders?
The Quincy Quarry Disaster Accident Response Team (“DART”) continues to catch disturbing darts of breaking bad news in the Q while monitoring the City of Quincy’s police scanner.
The latest confusion involved confusion given two major auto accidents in and around the intersection of Burgin Parkway and Centre Street around 5:42 PM on Monday night.
Both accidents apparently warranted emergency medical technicians responding to the scene, but there appears to have been some confusion as to exactly where to respond, how many accidents scenes there were as well as how many accident victims were involved.
One automobile accident was apparently in or around The Home Depo ® location adjacent to the intersection. It appears that a driver suffered a medical emergency, lost control of his or her vehicle as well as then struck others – or at least objects – in the immediate vicinity.
The other accident was a more convenient multiple vehicle accident at or near this frequent accident scene as well as busy intersection.
Fortunately, reports would appear to indicate that the confusion was adequately cleared up in time to assure that all impacted by both accidents received proper responses.
