While not as much of a given as is typically the case at Major League Baseball games, local fans of the blood sport that is local politics in Quincy saw something never seen before at Monday night’s City Council meeting: the City of Quincy’s Purchasing Agent was ejected from the meeting after throwing multiple nutties.
One nutty was over an inadvertent referring to her with her husband’s similarly sounding last name,
Unclear at this point, however, is if there might be trouble in marital paradise.

And another nutty by the purchasing agent.was an all but out of the blue outburst posed from the city council chamber’s gallery.
The purchasing director asserted that at least some on the city council were out to get her given that convicted former City of Quincy Council on Aging Director Tom “Steak Tips“ Clasby embezzlements included grifting self-enriching fraudulent purchase orders submitted by Steak Tips to the purchasing department and then approved.
In turn, the outbursts resulted in the purchasing director escorted out of the council chamber by the Quincy Police lieutenant detailed to provide security at the council meeting.
While microphones were purposefully turned off given the outbursts and video cameras’ angles less than ideal, one can see what one can via the following video from the 48:20 mark until roughly 51:00.

Additionally, a known to police as well as others individual was concurrently escorted out of the council chamber and she hurled an f-bomb on her way out of the council chamber.
Even so, the f-bomber was not to be deterred as she later snuck back into the building and was lurking in the council chamber’s dark anteroom when her return was spotted.
Accordingly, she was again ejected from the building by the police lieutenant assigned to the meeting, if not perhaps also by the police chief who was on hand to speak during the Clasby hearing.
However, this second ejection was not videoed as the ejection was outside of the field of vision of the council chamber’s cameras.
Plus, the ejection was so professionally handled that few in attendance were aware of its happening.

And as for the City Council Oversight Committee hearing, a number of crucial asks went unanswered given the purchasing agent’s ejection as well as suffered arguable stonewalling by senior Koch Maladministration officials.
For example, the mayor’s consigliere repeatedly as well as variously asserted that particulars about a $38,000 purchase order which was processed without putting this phony ask up for competitive bidding were irrelevant.
I loved the spin from DiBona about how “gracious” Koch was for taking $225,000 instead of $285,000, and how we shouldn’t even talk about it. Here is a reality check: if Koch wants a $285,000 job, let him go find one. You don’t run for a $152,000 elected office, camp out for two decades, and then demand a fortune.
Did he spend the last few years earning degrees in law, accounting, or public administration? Or did he attend Undertaker School? He spends so much time at local funeral parlors I assumed he was doing an internship. He has taken care of developers, donors, and their kids for years. Let them hire him at a private firm for $285,000.
If Quincy is going to bankroll a $225,000 executive salary, let’s dump the strong-mayor system and hire a qualified City Manager like Worcester or Cambridge. We need someone accountable to citizens, not special interests. Let’s put that money toward our underpaid schoolteachers. If Koch retires at 65 with a $225,000 cap over his last three years, his 30+ years of service locks in a lifetime pension of roughly $169,000 a year.
Is this how Quincy fixes its pension crisis? By padding the top and bleeding the elderly who are being taxed out of their homes? It’s a classic favor loop: pad my pension now, and I’ll take care of you later.
Meanwhile, a teacher with 30 years of service walks away with less than half of that. Some would call it organized crime. They can make fun of Councilor Yuan’s accent, but she speaks English well enough to know when Quincy taxpayers are getting robbed blind.
Thank you to the new Council for sounding the Fire Alarm on corruption. You guys might need new turnout gear too. You are fighting more fires than the QFD has fought in 10 years.
Boner continues to mistakenly think that someday he will be the next mayor of Quincy.
Reality, his political career will likely end at the end of his current council term.
Speaking of ending political careers, likely so too will be Mayor Koch’s after the city is likely hit with a third credit rating cut soon enough, property taxes soaring again in 2027, and audits of the Granite Links ground lease as well as the Quincy Center redevelopment special tax district’s books finally happen.
In short, “… facts are stubborn things.”
Even more stubborn than Quincy’s pig-headed mayor.
Why does every Department Head think they work exclusively for the Mayor, when they work for “The City”? The disdain they show towards the Council is embarrassing. That and some really nutty attendees and we have quite a show. The Mayor should call in the Department Heads and remind the work for THE CITY. However he won’t as he has culled this group of Kool Aid Drinkers for decades. Was that BAD Idea who was tossed?
It appears that the Purchasing Department Director tried to pull a “Do you know who I am?” sort of stunt. Well, those of us who might not have known who she is, certainly do now. She also clarified what she is.
What Logan has to say about the tense meeting
In a phone interview on June 24, two days after the meeting, Logan said that if she was “a little defensive” to start the meeting, it’s because she felt the tone of the meeting was accusatory and unproductive.
“I feel like we weren’t met with questions, but conversely with accusations, innuendos and insinuations,” she said.
Logan said she did nothing to warrant being asked to leave and complained that her microphone was shut off. She also criticized councilors who denounced her behavior after she left the meeting.
“I am an attorney,” she said. “I feel like my reputation was very much compromised. I feel I was defamed at that meeting,” Logan said, adding that she is exploring “all options” to defend her reputation and career.
“It’s become a workplace hostility issue,” she said.

If “Attorney” Logan repeatedly spoke out of turn as well as as rudely as she did at Monday night’s Quincy City Council meeting in my court, I would feed her to the alligator in my pool.

That’s rich! I had no idea who she was beforehand, but seeing her behavior, I have to agree — she certainly did compromise her reputation. She made a complete ass of herself. She’ll be the darling of the Kochsters.
The mic’s appear to be controlled by Koch. They go off at critical moments. Logan could use some mental help. Perhaps that is Walker. The people just want confidence in the books and the Admin. does everything to hide. I was told ages ago, Tommy would have to die in office because if the books are opened, he will be with Clasby and Danny Boy.
Quin you are correct. Go on qatv website and look who the president is. It’s the one and only James Timmins. So qatv is loyal to Koch or Timmins loses his job.
I wondering how much money the city spends to subsidize qatv.

QATV is no more. It was unofficially renamed Koch Omnivision years ago.
But not to worry for Quincy #1 solicitor perhaps dying in the saddle — rumor has it that he is no longer a condo developer or at least not the condo project adjacent to the Fox and Hound.

It’s worse than you think. QATV is subsidized by Comcast and the Koch Machine is not one to let a “plucking” opportunity escape its grasp.
For example, the Mayor Koch’s media director looks to be paid with QATV Comcast money as opposed via the City of Quincy’s budget.

While a most understandable suspicion that the Koch Machine controls the microphones in the City Council’s chamber, reality is that their cutting out and such is care of arguably worse maintenance and upkeep shortcomings than with local streets — whoddathunk that such was even possible?!?!?!

Taxpayers Foot the Bill for City Hall’s Penmanship Pedantry.
Looks like the “Koch Club” has notched yet another embarrassing court loss, and once again, Quincy taxpayers are left holding the bag.
Norfolk Superior Court Judge Rosemary Connolly recently ruled that City Clerk Nicole Crispo violated state law when her office threw out nearly 1,400 citizen signatures on the petition to reverse Mayor Tom Koch’s outrageous 79% pay raise. The Clerk tried to claim she couldn’t validate the signatures simply because they were hard to read, completely ignoring the perfectly legible printed names and addresses right next to them.
It was a blatant bureaucratic technicality designed to silence the public. True to form, our City Solicitors couldn’t or wouldn’t handle the case themselves. Instead, City Hall outsourced the defense to an expensive private law firm, burning through over $110,000 in taxpayer funds to actively fight the very citizens who fund this city. City Hall’s playbook always relies on Joe Citizen running out of money to pay for high-powered lawyers. Luckily for Quincy, excellent attorneys stepped up to handle this case pro bono to defend our democratic rights.
All of this legal gymnastics and wasted money happened because Tom Koch decided his high school education and managing a city of 110,000 people entitled him to a $285,000 salary and riding around in a massive black SUV with a police chauffeur like he’s running New York City or at least Boston.
For perspective, Mayor Koch thinks he deserves more money than the politics leaders of some of the largest economies in America. According to Business Insider, NYC Mayor Eric Adams makes $258,750, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu makes $250,000, and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson pulls in roughly $221,000. Even Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey ($222,185) and California Governor Gavin Newsom ($224,020) make less than what Koch demanded. Former Mayor Sheets used to drive himself around in a Ford Escort.
It’s time to remind City Hall that they answer to the taxpayers, not the other way! We need a new mayor and I think we are well on our way to ridding our city of corruption in City Hall.
Nicole did what she was told as did Timmins. Damn the law, Tommy Koch is in charge. Tommy is destroying the legacy of his Dad. The Koch Club has become a cult. Shame.

I remember Mr. Richard Koch coming to visit baseball games when I was a kid. My coach, Tony Delmonico, would gather us around him and he genuinely cared about all of us.
Nice man. Great memories.
I believe his son is nothing like that, however.
In 18-plus years in office, Mayor Koch’s stewardship of Quincy has been a failure. He’s basically governed like Boss Tweed. Power, corruption, favors, backroom deals, and revenge are his stock and trade. Keep the citizenry in line and give all sorts of “free stuff” that they actually paid for with the expectation that they’ll all be thankful for his “generosity” while he was running up the city’s credit card balance to $$2 billion – billions with a B.
