The senior at Large Quincy city councillor got porcine at this week’s city council meeting when he dissed the female rookie at Large city councillor later along in what was another late running council meeting.

Specifically, he said that she had a lot to learn as well as essentially added that she would be well-advised to opt to go along with the ways of Quincy’s City Hall.

The councillor’s alleged offense: seeking answers to questions about the city’s finances and which such review is part and parcel to the role of the city council.

That and by extension implying she should quietly submit to subjugation by City Hall+’s good ole boys.

Further problematic as regards the senior at Large councillor’s comments, the new councillor has a PhD in a STEM field and thus is a smart person.

A wicked smart person.

In particular, when it comes to researching a problem that needs solving.

Needless to say, the senior at large councillor’s comments gave rise to groans from those still in attendance as well as a subsequent call by the insulted councillor that the council to consider formally censuring the senior councillor over his most ill-advised comments.

In response to the pushback, the offending councillor tried to walkback his intemperate comments, however, his arguable non-apology apology was cut short by the chair as a call for censure was on the table.

Further, the offender’s diss is unlikely to be excused as matter of needing something to eat as the meeting was running longer than during previous sessions of the city council when going along to get along often enough saw city council meetings wrap up in half an hour or less.

An empty suit
A meme

Further, adding this latest intemperate stepping to previous steppings into it by this councillor can only lead one to suspect that he has pretty set the stage for the end of his of his career as a local elected official early on in his current and now ever more likely to be his final term in office in what has been at best a less then noteworthy career in office.
