A little too much cheer?

Today is National Red Wine Day and thus a red letter day for Quincy Quarry News’ well-stocked breakroom and honor bar.
Granted, beer or perhaps a bottle of — say — Prosecco are more appropriate during the summer as well as that red wine is more for pairing with cooler weather hearty red meat meals or at least a pizza, the Quarry crew rolls any and all opportunities to hoist a glass or three.
We’re going to need more than wine when the tax bills arrive.
So, the mayor holds a press conference about PFAS in firefighters gear purchased from a company that allegedly claimed the gear was PFAS free. The mayor has also given himself the title of CEO of the city.
Did the CEO verify the claims of the company before the gear was purchased? In the private sector the CEO would be held accountable. Did the press conference get any media attention outside of Quincy?
Also, was anyone surprised that the President of the Quincy Firefighters Union, Local 792 of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) is the mayor/CEO’s nephew?
John,
Amazingly, WGBH covered the PFAS. Then again, it will cover most any environmental pollution story.
