As April in New England continues to leave its residents wishing for typical March weather, it is only far to note that Punxsutawney Phil gave us fair warning to expect an extended winter.

Granted, we enjoyed a run of nice weather a few weeks ago but New England weather is well-known to be shall we say fickle.

Seriously fickle.

So fickle that northwest of Boston fresh snow accumulated overnight last night.

Then again, Phil does not come close to matching the Massachusetts Audubon Society’s Ms G when it comes to predicting when spring might come in general as well as not even close to Ms G’s solid record of making the call as when to expect the arrival of spring in New England in particular.

Even so, mess with Phil and expect to pay the price.
