— Quincy Massachusetts News by Quincy Quarry News – News, Opinion and Commentary
Ten years ago during the Winter of 2015 Eastern Massachusetts was buried with a record setting snowfall and overnight tonight Quincy may be hit with the biggest snow event in three years.
One snowfall forecast for Quincy as of 4 pm on Saturday is for just short of 8 inches in total.
At the same time, Quincy’s proximity to the Boston Harbor poses a potential wild card as regards the depth of the impending overnight snowfall.
How wild? By mid-week regional snowfall totals could reach their to date historical averages after several years of not much snow given climate change.
As such, what with most having locked down their bets for the Super Bowl, why not now bet on the impending snowfall?
In the meanwhile, do take note that late today Boston-centric Universal Hub upped its snowstorm projection for the ipening storm to a four slices of French Toast storm on its one to five slices of French Toast snowstorm Index with this near the top of a snow drift rating assigned to a storm that will not be a windy Nor’easter as we could be seeing upwards of foot of snow in some locations within Greater Boston.
As such, consider laying down bets for an over and under of seven inches per the official Quincy snowfall measurement atone the Blue Hill or perhaps as to when the City of Quincy snow and ice removal efforts might see local streets as cleared as the VIP parking lot at City Hall or along Newbury Avenue in North Quincy and along which Quincy’s peerless mayor surely but coincidentally lives.
