National Taco Day has formally moved to the first Tuesday in October this year!

Obviously, national and regional chains are offering specials today.

And as for local options, the Quincy Quarry News newsroom favorite is Pearl and Lime on Hancock Street just a few doors southerly from Hancock’s intersection with Granite Street in front of Stop and Shop’s headquarters.

Pearl and Lime offers tasty gourmet takes on the traditionally humble taco as well as expertly crafted adults libations and so making for  an ideal light meal casual date night option.

Next up, Acapulcos Mexican Family Restaurant & Cantina, a local venue of a small regional chain that is across from the Grannie Trust Building offers perfectly fine renditions of Tex Mex tacos as well as is a great spot to go for those hungry..

Additionally, Quincy Quarry peeps have noticed that Lunita Mexican Restaurant on School Street near St. John’s has a sizeable ethnic clientele and something which is always a good sign if one is seeking traditional offerings even if Quarry personnel have yet to check it out.

The Quarry has also heard very good things about Tacos & Pupusas, a humble establishment on Washington Street just bit past Southeastern Artery if one is hearing toward the Fore River Bridge.  Tacos & Pupusas’ offerings have a Salvadorian lint and are said to burst with flavors as opposed to merely flavor.

And for other local purveyors of tacos, check them out here.

Also keep in mind that any day can be the right day for tacos!
