National Pizza Day is today!

Plus, what day is a better day than a hump day to pick up a ‘za?

Then again, after almost two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of us are at least bordering on burned-out on America’s number one going away takeout food.

Even so, Quincy Quarry News would like to mention a few local favorites even if it opens the door for criticism by those who prefer other pie vendors.

For thin-crust pizza offerings that can hold their own with any North End or a certain well-regarded purveyor in East Boston, Boardwalk Pizza in Marina Bay is Quincy Quarry News newsroom favorite.

Even better, it is located right next to an upscale convenience store and deli featuring a decent selection of beer and wine to lubricate newsroom “bored meetings.”

Boardwalk also offers Italian sandwiches and a variety of salads for those seeking a bit of variety as might be needed.

Granted, Boardwalk is a bit pricey, but the price is worth it for those seeking more than just putting on the feedbag.  As such, the only problem is that Boardwalk is short on table space should one prefer to dine right out of the oven.

Then again, one can look for a place nearby along the harbor waterfront to chow outside once nice weather returns.

As such, for those looking for a dining-in experience as a change of pace, Quincy Center’s Razafa is a solid option for those looking for a nice take on a Margherita or a fig and prosciutto pizza, a nice glass or two of wine, and a perfectly pleasant ambiance in a nice space.  Also in Razafa’s favor, it offers the added bonus of all but invariable convenient curbside parking as is a bit removed from Quincy Center as well as so also easy to access.
