Pedestrian whackings by motor vehicles in Quincy are so frequent an event of late that such a whacking has to have a hook to be worth Quincy Quarry News coverage.
Unless it is a slow news day, that is.
A whacking on Sunday past is just such a whacking worth coverage on any day.
Per the the scanner radio chatter, a pedestrian whacking in the vicinity of 162 South Street was also suspected to be an intentional whacking.
Further, to complete the trifecta, per the radio chatter this whacking appeared to perhaps additionally include a hostage situation.
Accordingly, a firefighter on the scene calling in to dispatch over the suspected hostage angle was told to hold back until appropriate police back-up arrived at the scene.
In short, yet another new low for pedestrian safety on the ever-increasingly mean as well as dangerous streets of Quincy.
