On an otherwise clear, pleasant and quiet school vacation week spring day in Quincy, things suddenly went to Code Red given an incident at the City of Quincy Quincy Housing Authority senior housing tower in Wollaston Center around 3 pm this afternoon.
Per a Quincy Quarry News Citizen Police Scanner Monitor, Quincy police radio chatter was flying fast and furious.
An individual suspected to be packing and thought to be a City of Quincy Quincy Housing Authority property manager was said to barricaded on the 12th floor and thus the top floor of the City of Quincy senior housing building on Clay Street near the Wollaston Center Eastern Bank branch.
The radio chatter included noting that a man had apparently threatened to shot people.
Chatter also indicated that the individual suspected to be barricaded on the top floor of the tower has a permit to carry.
Not only were Quincy Police Special Operations personnel thus directed to roll to the scene, so too were all available officers.
So many officers were dispatched that police cruisers were apparently ferrying ride-less officers from police headquarters to the crisis scene.
Additionally, at one least ambulance was called to the scene.
Unfortunately, the radio chatter suddenly went silent and police radio communication was likely moved over to a secure and private police radio channel for reasons obvious.
Even so, the Quincy Quarry dug deep and was so advised that the problem was actually a beef between two tenants. No clarity was obtained, however, if a gun was, in fact, in play or if the incident was effectively defused with a minimal level of disruption.
For example, was defenestration committed or suffered by any of the now apparently two peeps with a beef.
Slow and steady wins the race don’t forget!!
