National Bean Counter Day Is Today!

April 16th is most every accountant’s favorite day of the year.

After all, after days of crunching numbers for tax returns so as to endeavor to see federal and state income returns submitted by their April 15th deadlines, a day off for bean counters is only appropriate.

In Massachusetts, however, both the state and federal tax returns filing deadlines is April 17th as April 15th is also the Commonwealth’s Patriots Day holiday and April 16th is Emancipation Day in the District of Columbia.

In any event, if you know a bean counter, try to understand that they have been under a great deal of work stress and thus should endeavor crisis mitigation strategies.

After all, as often as not it is the quiet ones who go postal.
