Not eclipse safety glasses
An old photo

The much touted solar eclipse came and went yesterday.

While Quincy experienced only a 93% coverage of the Sun by the Moon, it was still dramatic.

Seriously dramatic

it was also a social event.

From school-based group viewings to a viewing hosted by Quincy’s main public library branch to small gatherings in local neighborhoods, many Quincy residents enjoyed the eclipse.

A local treasure in oh so many ways
A file photo

Even better, it was a perfect day for viewing the eclipse, including also catching some rays before as well as after the eclipse and so be able to begin the move away from pasty winter skin color.

Also, considering how dismal has been the recent weather, the nearly balmy weather for the eclipse was a welcome change, if not also but miraculous.

Speaking of Quincy’s main branch of the Crane Library, Quincy Quarry can only properly give the library a shout out for its gracious as well as gratis supplying Quarry personnel with safe eclipse viewing glasses and as the library also graciously provided to many others.
