Missing an “e”, closed up tight, and trashed.

Even by local standards, this past week set new lows for at least odds and ends.

First up, Quincy Quarry discovered that the City of Quincy underwritten with tax money Discover Quincy’s Welcome C nter (sic) was not only closed and missing an “e” but also trashed.

So much for making Quincy welcoming.

For at least tourists anyway.

Next up was a trifecta — of a sort anyway — this past Monday.

“I need Animal Control for back-up. No way am I going near the cat.”

First up, a fire call on Franklin Street near its intersection with Water Street and which apparently ended up with someone placed under observation behind locked doors.

Then shortly thereafter, a woman was apparently attacked by a cat such that she had to go to Milton Hospital for treatment and Quincy police responding to the scene opted to call Animal Control for back-up.

And to complete the trifecta but few hours of monitoring the radio chatter of Monday’s First Watch police personnel picked up word of a female said to be threatening to jump from the sixth floor of a condominium building near the top of the hill along Quarry Street.

Then several hours later after a restart of the shot clock for the Second Watch on Monday, Quincy police supported MBTA Transit Police responding to a stabbing of a juvenile at the Quincy Center MBTA station as well as take four other juveniles into custody.

In short, Happy Monday …

Next up, Tuesday featured a hit and run whacking of a pedestrian on Southern Artery said to be in a crosswalk near its intersection with Quincy Avenue.

Watching paint dry is more exciting …

Fortunately, for some comic relief, the Quarry ran a story midweek about who is faster: the City of Quincy Pothole Patrol or the Post Office?

The comic relief was then unfortunately undercut given another pedestrian whacking within twenty-for hours of the above noted pedestrian whacking.

In short, for the most part same old same old, different week as well as yet again.

That and do be sure to note that the above events are but a sampling of events in the Q this past week.
