The Wednesday evening commute along Washington Street was disrupted by a traffic accident.
The accident occurred on Washington Street’ near its intersection with Ponds Street, former known as Pond Street, as well as included a Quincy police cruiser.
Police radio chatter suggested that the cruiser had been responding to a domestic as well as that the officer in it was perhaps in a hurry.
The cruiser also appears to have done a 180 degree rotation following the collision as well as ended up facing the wrong way on the eastbound side of Washington Street.
Another car involved was a Honda and per the images taken of it on a tow truck suggest that it likely suffered the worst of it.
In any event, a number of other cruisers responded to the scene as well as nearby so to detour westbound traffic onto Mill Street to then rely on Southern Artery so as to bypass the accident scene.
Also on the scene were two firetrucks, an ambulance, a Brewster Ambulance supervisor’s ride, and in time at least one tow truck.
While on the scene, Quincy Quarry News personnel further happened up a third vehicle that looked to have suffered collateral damage.
The good news, it did not appear to be a serious injury grade accident.
Also fortunate, the weather this evening was mild.
For this time of year anyway.

My prayers go out to our officer and his family.
Are you kidding me one Cruiser went to the right of the one and threw the light with a crosswalk and a skate park doing about 50 to 60 miles an hour. The woman driving the other Cruiser going around the one way around the Chevy it was going to a red light opposite direction and she went to take a left and the cruiser nailed her she was looking across the street make sure there’s no traffic she ain’t looking behind it when the Cruiser has no siren on one on the right and then one on the left she deserve to get hit and she deserves to be reprimanded because policy is about Public Safety not creating accidents for a domestic come on what was the race to get there first one right one on the left Turtles because of some dumb move by a police officer putting everybody’s lives in Jeopardy and that woman is hurt too and the officer was faking her injury to cover her ass had a life man know the facts.
Jack,
Thank you for offering your recounting of things.
Obviously, the Quarry could only offer up what it could discerned from observation after the accident as this was not an incident wherein scoring comments from those on the scene was going to happen.
You should work on your spell check
T
Think what you may, but there were no misspellings in the initial publication of this Quincy Quarry story.
Auto correct to the wrong word and less than perfect editing in the rush to publish this story sorts of errata however …
