Serious snow coming to Eastern Massachusetts?

Two years after the last major snow event in the Greater Boston area, local broadcast media meteorologists have steadily been upping their forecasts for snowfall to be anticipated this weekend, something which rarely bodes for those who do not prepare for bad weather.

While rain/snow lines and expected snow totals are still in flux, forecast models have steadily moved towards consensus that Metro Boston is going to hit with a Nor’easter even if recent days have been sunny and reasonably mild as far as things go in January.

Fortunately for long-suffering locals the anticipated storm is expected to hit the fan late Saturday night into Sunday evening.

Even worse, there are early indications that a follow-up storm may roll into the area around Tuesday or thereabouts.

In the meanwhile, however, Quincy Quarry’s media brethren at Universal Hub have yet to issue a French Toast Alert.

Even so, the Quarry has already laid in bread, eggs, milk, and most especially adult libations as well as recommends that its ever-growing legions do likewise before panic shopping empty’s store shelves.

After all, one can only reasonable assume that the City of Quincy’s Department of Public Works is out of practice to mount even its usually open to rebuke level of response to consequential snow events.

That and how one could argue that a snowy winter was only to be expected when Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch made his only consequential 2024 budget cut by trimming the snow and ice budget line item.

After all, “Tommy Taxes” has a Medusa Touch.
