“Take a bit outta crime”
A Desilu Productions image

The week began with the FBI rolling out its annual nationwide crime rates statistical report.

While crime nationally was down by 1.6% in 2022 from 2021, crime in Quincy was up by 9%.

Further troubling, violent crime in Quincy was 36% higher than the statewide average in 2022 on a per 100,000 population basis.

Regardless of the fact that facts are stubborn things, Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch continues to campaign on a strong on public safety platform as well as continuing to dubiously assert that Quincy is a safe place to live.

Next up, Mayor Koch hosted a dedication for the not opening until next year for a couple dozen or so students on the Autism Spectrum three hundred and fifty student capacity DiCristofaro Learning Center.

Further, the enrollment will only perhaps reach a bit over 20% of capacity enrollment by next fall per extremely optimistic projections.

Regardless of a woeful utilization rate, the event made for useful campaign season photo op.

Especially as it was all but assuredly City of Quincy-funded.

What typically happens all too often to tax money in Quincy

Speaking of projections, Quincy Quarry has called into question the Koch Maladministration’s projections that the $43 million and still counting learning center will save taxpayers a few hundred thousand dollars a year.

Seriously questioned the cost saving projection foisted by the maladministration.

Quincy Quarry’s financial and other affairs desk projects that the school will — best case — run as much as a couple million in the red with even more in the red more likely.

The City of Quincy’s books …

All in all, the Quarry’s this pro forma projection was surprisingly easily accomplished even though the maladministration continues to be as opaque as the city’s books as the dark of night on as moonless winter night.

How easy?

Wicked easy.

Accomplished in but minutes easy.

How so?

After years of monitoring the monitoring the Koch Machine’s financial stooges, figuring out such things is easy to do.

Wicked easy.

Accomplished in but moments easy.

Speaking of opaque, the Koch Machine continues to not dare even but offer up the glint of a hint as just how much local property tax rates will be going up for local homeowners to fund Mayor Koch’s near 10% and so record setting increase in city spending budgeted for Fiscal Year 2024.

Even so, this too Quincy Quarry has already projected as likely to be no less than a 7.5% tax increase come 2024 residential property tax bills issuance with 8.5% as the likely median barring Mayor Koch yet again taps a cookie jar for a short term snack of a de facto koch and mirrors loan.

A wicked large cookie jar.

Returning to the fast approaching election, the Koch campaign is continuing to spam call locals with push polling pro Koch calls.

Most unfortunately, however much only to be expected, Federal Communications Commission (“FCC”) rules and regulations do not impost sanctions upon politicians inflicting nuance calls as the FCC is conversely empowered to well-warrantedly inflict upon commercial telemarketers.

Speaking of locals being hit with a bombogenesis load of spam calls, Accuweater is the latest mainstream media to follow Quincy Quarry’s lead in predicting a near normal snowfall this winter after a short run of modest to near record-setting low snowfall winters in Eastern Massachusetts.

In turn, expect even more woes for the City of Quincy’s finances and thus also for local residents as the Einsteins in the Koch Maladministration have dramatically trimmed the city’s snow and ice removal budget for this fiscal year.

The only spending cut of any significance in what is a record breaking going away budget spending increase by the way, not to mention a couple to several fold increase in spending than just about every other larger communities in the Commonwealth.

Accordingly, Quincy Quarry News strongly recommends that its ever-growing legions of loyal readers lay in rock salt, pack a bag of kitty litter on their rides, make sure to have plenty of snow shovels at the ready, stock up on long shelf-life adult beverages, service their snowblowers, perhaps score some MRE’s, and consider replacing old snow tires before such goods and services might be hard to come by during the coming winter months.

After all, supply chains can and do break.
