The apparent straw e-poll
An email image

The silly season that is campaign season and which only just informally kicked into gear coincident with the recent Labor Day weekend has already hit a new low in Quincy.

Quincy Quarry was dimed with an e-copy of a straw poll via a reliable source and which has been as reasonably confirmed as possible that this email-distributed poll is not a goof.

At least not a goof by the source providing it that is.

In any event, Quincy Quarry News can only reasonably assume that this e-poll was not sent out by Representative Stephen Lynch’s campaign team or any of its consultants.

At the same time, the Quarry cannot see how Ward 3 City Councillor Ian Cain could find himself onto a Democratic primary ballot.

Not successfully anyway as Councillor Cain often presents himself in such fashion to suggest that he is a closet Libertarian millennial crypto wannabe as opposed to a Progressive Democrat who might care to challenge the old school blue collar labor Democrat from Southie incumbent Representative Stephen Lynch.

Plus, as old as Representative Lynch looks to be, he is not anywhere close to President Biden’s age even if they could pass as separated at birth fraternal twins.

Plus, as someone from Southie, one can only assume that Lynchie is still good with a shiv.

Moreover, Councillor Cain’s viability to challenge Lynch is only modestly benefited given comparisons with his Ward 1 and 6 peers, the rookie representing Ward 4 as well as the current council president.

Conversely, however, there is the problem that Cain’s absence rate at city counsel meeting is on track to eclipse that of the record set by a former Ward 5 Councillor who still managed to land herself a sweet gig as a District Court Clerk Magistrate.
