Governor Maura Healey
A file photo image

Within but a week, blowback on Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey’s out of the blue announcement via a published statement last week that she would be seeing a migrant housing center and homeless services center established on the campus of Eastern Nazarene College in Wollaston has hit the fan.

Then again, blowback by locals and others was only reasonable to expect over a done deal done on the down low.

For example, via postings to Quincy-centric Facebook groups.

Following are three such postings.

ENC is broke, their wallet is empty, looking at their Form 990 they’ve been operating at a loss for years.

They’re seemingly using this government bailout under the guise Christian charity as a lifeline to stay in operation.

The more I read about this the more it stinks.  Robbie Morgan

Is this being forced on us by the Gov or did we agree to this?

I’m all for helping the homeless but this seems different.  Alex Oresto

_____

I don’t normally post about these kind of things or don’t post at all, but I do feel like there is always two sides to every story. This is mine.

I was kicked out of my ENC apartment on July 19 (I was living in the 1 of apparently now 3 available apartments) I was given 30 days to pack up everything I own in the apartment I’ve lived in for three years to another barely affordable apartment under the guise that I was making room for “staff housing” which I found out through this article that everyone I know has sent me, was a lie.In 13 days my life was turned upside down, and now I am watching this parade of “greatness” for the school that almost made me homeless.

ENC is a private school drowning in debt, looking for a state hand out and calling it Christian hospitality. Well, there is nothing Christian about lying.

And there certainly isn’t anything Christian about putting some people out with low income to house others for free and call it a “mission of faith”. More like a mission for money. #easternnazarenecollege  Gabrielle LaPierre

An old image posted on Facebook file photo

While Quincy Quarry offers no warranty expressed or implied as to the veracity of these posts from Facebook, they do offer food for thought.

That and for some funny reason, the Quincy Quarry news crew suspects that these posts are but appetizers before what is likely to follow, if not also bites taken out of those via collateral damage.
