– News about Quincy Massachusetts from Quincy Quarry News
After word was broken via a Quincy Quarry News exclusive that the recent spat of wildfires westerly Quincy are suspected to include incidents of arson, the Friends of the Blues have posted a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person or persons suspected of starting fires in the Blue Hills.
As for the various media reports that followed Quincy Quarry News’ scoop, one by the Boston tabloid has reported that State Police are investigating suspicious fires.
Further, WBZ Channel 4 ran a video remote feature about the recent suspicious fires in the Blue Hills.
Even so, Quincy Quarry News’ ever-growing legions of loyal readers know to first look to the Quarry for news about Quincy.
There is a homeless population that camps out in the Blue Hills. I suppose a campfire could have started at least some of these fires.
Asterisk,
No argument, there is a homeless population in the Blue Hills and as there is in Quincy’s Faxon Park and its annex above the Kan Man Plaza on a parcel of land once slated for a new Quincy High a few decades ago.
At the same time, QFD Chief Jackson made it very clear to a Quarry reporter that at least some of the fires were suspected arson fires and for him arson means a purposefully set fire rather than a campfire accident caused fire.
Good, especially when summer is approaching and fires spread easily.
