Quincy Police Chief Paul “the Beav” Keenan issues a press release on Sunday nights stabbings in West Quincy.

His statement follows.

Granted, Mondays happen and things thus can slide first thing in a new week; even so, Quincy Quarry finds it disconcerting that the chief’s statement did not include the one can only reasonably to be assumed de rigueur admonition that the suspect should be considered as armed and dangerous and thus contact police immediately.

That and perhaps include a description of the suspect, including a photograph if available, as the chief’s press release noted that the alleged had been identified.

Further disconcerting is the local weekly tabloid’s coverage as the following is included in its lede passage: “The suspect in the home invasion has been identified and there is no active or continued threat to the area.

Granted, while the suspect has all but assuredly fled the scene, if not also Quincy, it is still only fair to note that the scene of the crimes committed is in a mostly residential neighborhood as well as also but a few short blocks away from a local public school district facility that provides early intervention services for preschool age children with diagnosed needs, the largest public grammar school in Quincy, and an also public school middle school.

Finally, multiple media reports indicate that the alleged slasher will be appearing in Quincy District Court today but is not currently in custody over only to be expected three counts of at least assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

In short, more questions were posed rather than were existing ones answered.
