While Quincy Quarry News enjoys the winter holiday season, especially its tradition of free-flowing adult libations; the Quarry still cannot help but wonder why the Koch Maladministration is opting to engage in at least a bit of deforestation in the era of suspected climate change.
After all, trees are said to be a key tool in the battle against it but the maladministration’s plans to cut down healthy evergreen trees to then put up on temporary display for the holidays.
Plus, what would Santa say?
That and Greta Thunberg.
Then again, be sure to recall that this past summer the Koch Machine pretty much laid waste to many of the roughly fifteen hundred trees planted by it in recent years at taxpayers’ expense given that the Koch Machine did not have a viable watering plan in place.
@CityofQuincy is seeking donated trees for the downtown & neighborhood Christmas tree-lighting displays.Norway or Blue Spruce or other large evergreens ranging from 25-45 ft. Must be in very good condition. Interested residents can call 617 376-1251 or email [email protected]. pic.twitter.com/igCnzOaTbY

Further problematic, there is the widely held the belief that only God can make a tree and thus cutting down trees to pimp the secular recasting of one of the two most important times of the year for one world’s major religions can only leave one, well, gobsmacked.
Then again, Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch has long been decorating Kim Jong Koch Plaza, née Hancock Adams Green, with cut trees during the winter holidays in spite of the fact that the environs around Quincy’s two city halls have long-featured live evergreen trees.
Even so, and as exposéd last year by Quincy Quarry News, the Koch Maladministration temporarily set up three cut trees in Quincy Center during last year’s winter holiday season.
Even more troubling, this year’s call for donated trees would suggest that the Koch Maladministration is seeking even more to be cut trees to then be put up on display here and there around Quincy.
Granted, the maladministration is seeking donations of trees rather than buying them on the open markets; at the same time, such donations surely come with the expectation of a quid pro quo given that the Koch Machine all but invariably functions per a strict transactional mindset even if the deal so struck often play out badly and worse for local taxpayers..
For example, in exchange for a “donated” tree, one can only reasonable assume that City of Quincy taxpayers are ultimately one way or another likely to be stuck for paying for cutting down and then removing of any donated tree as well as so doing each donor a likely four-figure solid.
Then again, Mayor Koch long-handed out goodies, especially to those who are generous to him.
Plus, he also sports a “Clausian” belly that appears to be full of jelly.
That and also how rarely does he miss a chance at self-promotion, if not also self-aggrandizement.

WTF, Koch is now asking for tree donations. I wonder how many of the City of Quincy’s Twitter followers have a pair of 40-foot Christmas trees needing killing.
How about the Mayor Tom “bowl full of jelly” Koch using his own campaign fund money to buy the trees at a tree farm rather than chopping down the ever fewer mature trees that have long been growing in as well as gracing Quincy with their presence? Nary a square inch of green space left after all of the recent building construction to boot. How many people can you cram into one city?
