MBTA restores service through Green and Orange line tunnels after emergency bracing

After closing the tunnels underneath the undergoing demolition Government Center garage last week over safety concerns, the tunnels were reopened for regular use by Green and Orange line trains this morning after the bracing of a deteriorating support column for the garage.

“Relatively” quick restoration of service notwithstanding, there has been no word if any senior MBTA suits, much less any of its board of directors, will be riding underneath the under demolition parking garage or the T in general.

In any event, the touts in the Quincy Quarry newsroom have set the Fourth of July as the over and under date for the next round of breaking badly bad news© to hit the fan at the T.
