Jasiel Correia II, former Fall River mayor and now convicted felon to stay out of federal prison for a while longer.

In a ruling that surely has to chap a lot of observers’ backsides, this convicted and sentenced grifter has scored an at least third if a not fourth delay in his having to report for a six-year stay at a Club Fed.

Previous delays included one to allow him to help out at in-laws’ family business during its business holiday season and then care of COVID-19 pandemic-fueled procedural sorts of delays.

The only good news about this delay is that it was only granted for half the time sought and for only one of the two primary requests to grant a delay.

Even so, Correia has another delay request is already undergoing review by the judge on his case.

This latest request is that he be allowed to remain out on bail until the appeal of his conviction might be adjudicated.

Bon chance of this, however, if for no other reason than that Correira’s previous asks are surely trying the judge’s patience ane which is about the last thing a convicted felon should ever do with a judge.
