All things considered, Quincy Quarry is not surprised that a suspected incidence of road rage occurred in Quincy given that local traffic congestion has long been metastasizing given Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s at least de facto enabling of mostly connected developers to build outsized housing projects in most every neighborhood in Quincy, along with the return of traffic after a relatively brief COVID-19 pandemic-fueled hiatus.
At the same time, the Quarry was surprised that this incident of gunfire road rage would happen in the better neighborhood along this run of Adams Street as opposed to somewhere along – for example – Sea Street.
After all, those in the know know that more than a few people in Hough’s Neck pack as well as have long been facing all manner of traffic congestion.
That and suffered considerable burdensome personal expense given vehicle suspension damage care of poor road surface conditions along Sea Street given its long-ongoing and only somewhat recently completed major makeover.
Also problematic, while the shooting was within blocks of the former site of Quincy Hospital, as the hospital closed long ago and its site is now undergoing redevelopment for yet another outsized housing project, the shooting victim thus instead had to be schlepped to Boston Medical Center via the Central Artery during at least the back end of the evening commute.
Fortunately for the shooting victim, his injuries were not life-threatening.
With everything going on was shooting someone the best thing to do?
