“A model for the rest of the country” –  Senator Malarkye applauds Brockton’s COVID vaccine clinic

Senator Malarky visited a Brockton vaccination and what was apparently the first time he has visited an inside vaccination facility.

Malarkey called Brockton’s vaccination services impressive, efficient, effective, and run like a machine.

The senator’s stop in Brockton focused on how COVID-19 has disproportionately affected communities of color.

“Communities of color continue to suffer from the worst impacts of this public health crisis.  They were the first to get the virus, they were the first to have to stay on the job.  They could not Skype into their jobs.  They had to show up for their jobs and have greater risk for themselves and greater risk for their families when they went home.  And they were the first to die, but the last to get the relief and care that they needed during this crisis,” Markey said.

The Brockton Neighborhood Health Center, the Brockton Emergency Management Agency, and Massachusetts National Guard are currently administering roughly 800 vaccine doses a day to locals eligible for vaccination.

Assuming no other ways for locals to secure vaccinations, given the current rate of 800 vaccinations a day, it will take roughly 120 days to vaccinate Brockton.

Fortunately, other vaccination options are available to Brockton residents.
