My bad for being away

Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s YouTube COVID-19 updates back following a two-week vacation.

On the last weekday of school vacation week, Mayor Koch resumed his COVID-19 YouTube update, not to mention that his performance showed that he was out of practice.

His presentation rambled hither and yon with a lack of structure that made Quincy Quarry’s stories the epitome of tight, cogent, and cohesive text.

Particularly amusing was Mayor Koch’s repeatedly taking both sides of something as well as most of the muddle in the middle.

The toll continues to increase

After all, after eleven weeks in the COVID-19 Red Zone risk zone, Quincy crawled barely into the Yellow Zone this week even if orange would be a better color for conveying the current risk factor, one would think that Mayor Koch would have spun a better presentation of the but middling improvement even if Quincy is still towards the back of the pack statewide.

Additionally, Mayor Koch failed to make note of the increase in the local COVID-19 death toll over the past week.

Further, the production values of the mayor’s video were sloppy at best.

For example, the video runs a blank black screen for over a minute after the mayor wrapped up his three minutes of rambling.

Granted, it is not as if the Koch Machine is capable of Hollywood-grade production values.

Even so, this time Wayne and Garth looked pro in comparison.

Way more pro.

Mayor Koch also often talked up mistakes made, even if mostly those said to be made by others, while at the same time concurrently appearing to be pandering for forgiveness for himself and as he is wont to do whenever he is caught acting without permission.

A flop sweating Governor Andrew Cuomo

In turn, one could not help but wonder if Mayor Koch was trying to preempt getting Cuomo’ed given his profuse apologizing.

Accordingly, the Quincy Quarry City Editor called for a full-court press by the Quiary’s investigative personnel as well as its ever-growing cadre of Citizen Journalists and dime droppers to see if maybe there is a fire roasting the backside of the source of what came across as smoke blown.
