Quincy just barely squeaks into COVID-19 Yellow Zone risk status.

While Quincy Quarry’s projections on Quincy’s COVID-19 risk have otherwise consistently been spot on, Quincy moved from Red Zone risk status to barely within Yellow Zone status (but, ed.) a week earlier than the Quarry’s ongoing conservative best-case expectation of Quincy not doing so before the end of this month per this week’s Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s weekly COVID-19 report update.

In fairness, however, it must be noted that Quincy’s COVID-19 metrics for testing positive just barely dropped below the 4% Red Zone mark to 3.58% and so allowed Quincy to but barely squeak into Yellow Zone risk status.

Additionally, as Quincy’s latest COVID-19 test positive rate is a third higher than the statewide average, Quincy would thus be better viewed as at an Orange Zone level of risk.

Something else Worcester has but Quincy doesn’t

It must also be noted that that Worcester moved from the Red Zone to well into Yellow Zone risk status last week.

Worcester notwithstanding, it still must be noted that Worcester has hospitals, unlike hospital-less Quincy, as well as that Worcester also has a medical school, also unlike Quincy.

Further, Quincy no longer has an emergency care unit and is thus now the largest city in Massachusetts without one.

Instead, the site of the former Quincy Medical Center and now also former emergency care unit is scheduled to undergo demolition beginning in March to make way for a massive 465 unit apartment complex.

Then again, surely Quincy needs even more well-above local rental rates apartments.

And for the final proof that Quincy has been a laggard to move into the Yellow Zone COVID-19 risk zone, Somerville did so a month ago – FREAKIN’ SLUMMERVILLE.

In turn, given these two top ten largest communities moved into the Yellow Zone before Quincy finally did so might explain the Koch Maladministration’s so far muted commentary about Quincy’s finally (barely, ed.) coming off of the COVID-19 Red Zone risk list.

His tap-dancing around facts is well-practiced

Then again, perhaps the Koch Machine’s mouthpiece Pinocchio Walkbacker is working hard to spin up his usual string of fractional truths into a pile of bovine byproduct for Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch to then shovel ASAP thereafter, especially given that Mayor Koch has not posted a YouTube COVID-19 update in two weeks as of when Quincy Quarry’s published this article.

After all, why else is Pinocchio dining at the public trough?

Other than facilitating access, that is.
