Quincy Streets are hockey rinks of Black Ice tonight.

A Quincy Quarry News Citizen Journalist reports that local streets – and especially side streets – are fraught with black care of today’s light rain that then turned to ice given a quick temperature drop to below freezing after sunset.

That and an apparent lack of pretreating local streets with brine and/or salt in advance of what was a well-forecast freezing rain event today.

The only other things further unclear at this point is if snow clearing crews were taking today off as it is a federal holiday or if the germane Koch Maladministration senior official(s) tasked to make the calls as regards snow clearing was(were) enjoying a long holiday weekend or perhaps even longer to enjoy school vacation week this week, or decided to save some money and so let local drivers’ insurance companies pay for any damage needlessly incurred.
