Quincy soars to new COVID Code Red levels.
The latest weekly COVID-19 update from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health notes the 14 day moving average positive test ratio for Quincy as soaring to 8.01%, a 20% increase from last week’s record high and so setting a new high.
Additionally, Quincy’s 8.01% positive test rate is higher than the most recent 7-day statewide positive test average.
Further, the lastest 14-day average daily of new local cases increased by 8.5% and which would also appear to be a new local high.
Conversely, Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch has so far this week promulgated only one COVID-19 YouTube update and a brief one it was at that.
Mayor Koch opened his latest video with mention of a recent one day and now clearly onetime downward blip in the local new cases and which the Quarry has previously suggested might be a matter of less than timely data uploads.
The mayor then moved on to feting a couple of his staffers who are working COVID-19 matters.
And before bidding adieu, he next talked up a then-impending North Quincy High School versus Quincy High School final game of their respective seasons and added at which he inexplicably noted that admittedly limited attendance by the parents of the players participating was to be allowed.
