Grumpy White’s customers soon to be grumbling

Yet another local longtime and popular local business is fleeing the Q.

In this instance, Grumpy White’s, long a purveyor of old school comfort food including such classics as a great haddock sandwich, is the latest local business to fall victim to COVD-19.

Apparently the pandemic was too much to cope with in the wake of the suspected prior and ongoing loss of revenue care of the all but complete cessation of the previous City of Quincy City Clerk’s frequent lunch visits and serious Keno habit.

The burger is the bomb.  No, the chicken parm sandwich is the best.

After all, the former City Clerk now has a no heavy lifting gift as a Norfolk County County Commissioner and which comes with an office in Dedham and thus giving rise to a long drive should he care to enjoy weekday lunchtime dining and gambling in Quincy.

That and perhaps also the further impact of Quincy’s gourmand of a mayor cutting back on his working lunch “campaign meetings” paid for by his evaporating campaign fund.

In any event, the last day of operation for Grumpy’s will be on Saturday, November 21.

For reasons obvious, Quincy Quarry suggests that loyal customers undertake appropriate pandemic precautionary steps.

For example, dropping in to dine onsite before the last day, opting for takeout or in some cases dumpster diving given the expected rush for last call before Grumpy’s closes its door for keeps.
